We provide our services to facilities located in the Colorado communities of Glenwood Springs, Carbondale and Basalt. You may live anywhere and visit Heeling Partners facilities in these locations. We also provide help to individuals or groups starting their own programs in other locations. Anyone may become a member of Heeling Partners, with or without a dog. To become an active team doing volunteer work with your dog, you need to belong to a second organization which provides two important services we do not: Evaluation to test teams and document they are qualified to perform the type of work we do. Insuranceto provide coverage needed to protect both our volunteers and the facilities we visit.
Organizations must meet the requirements of the facilities we visit. After doing extensive research we found the following to be acceptable; you may belong to either. * Therapy Dogs Incorporated (TDInc) (www.therapydogs.com) Note: This is not the same as Therapy Dogs International (TDI), which does not allow its registered teams to be associated with any other therapy organization, such as Heeling Partners. Unfortunately, the names are very similar. * Delta Society (www.deltasociety.org)
