The Pooch Parade is an annual fundraising event to benefit Heeling Partners (HP) of the Roaring Fork Valley, a non-profit organization. This was our third year of hosting the event. During the Pooch Parade participants travel along an easy route on the sidewalk looping around Two Rivers Park. They stop at stations along the way and fill their goodie bag with fun gifts.
Before and after the Parade, there are many things to do. The candid pictures below show these activities along with many of the participants. See the menu at the left for other pictures taken at the Pooch Parade event.

Number 3707 At the "Doggie Fitness" table (left), HP member Nancy Williams (owner/operator of The Shaggy Dog) checked dogs' weight, ears and clipped toenails. "Fit" dogs got a treat and "fat" dogs got a carrot. At the "Doggie IQ" table (right), HP member Jacquie Tannenbaum "tested" dogs on owner-selected behaviors. Those who passed got a fun gift.
Number 7417 Worth, from CARE, brought Aimee the Bloodhound, who was available for adoption. (Aimee was later transferred to Boulder and adopted.) We have a special place in our hearts for CARE, since several of our HP dogs come from them.
Number 7418 Terena Thomas and her staff from Canine Country School brought a "dog" and "cat" on which to practice CPR and first aid. Terena's advice was very helpful to many participants.
