CONGRATULATIONS LAURA & TEAL!
Laura VanDyne and Teal are the winners of the 2012 Valley View Hospital "Spirit of Caring" award for a dog/handler team. Way to go Laura & Teal - we're very proud of you.

PAWS TO READ . . . VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Libraries in both Basalt and Carbondale now have Paws to Read programs up and running, as do Glenwood Springs Elementary School and Ross Montessori School (Carbondale).  Any registered team (passed evaluation and has insurance) who likes working with children is welcome. We will provide an orientation on what to do.
Children, parents, teachers, librarians and our members/dogs love the program - we get great feedback constantly. Come try it and see why it’s so much fun! Contact Michele Kingman at 970-947-1361 or meking1105@aol.com

CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVY!

Davy completed her training and certification to be a Therapy Dogs, Inc. (TDInc) evaluator!

Dogs who are on a raw protein diet cannot be members of the Delta Society, so the Heeling Partners Board chose Therapy Dogs, Inc. as an alternative. Note: TDInc is NOT the same organization as TDI.

VALLEY VIEW PATIENT PRAISES HEELING PARTNERS TEAMS!
K.S. of Basalt, Colorado wrote . . . “The dog visits were the best part of my stay at the hospital. I had two visits, one with Lorda and one with Bing. They were so sweet, gentle and loving, and also very cute. I really miss my own dog right now and the visits really helped with that and just made me feel so much happier. I think this is a wonderful program that is very beneficial to the patients as well as the dogs . . . The two visits I had were great. They really cheered me up and the handlers were great too"
